My daughter crocheted this beautiful baby sleep sack for her newest nephew, who is due at the beginning of next month. She did a lovely job, and it is giving me some ideas….
I thought, along with working on my “Baby Afghans for Every Season” patterns, I’d see about working up some patterns for Baby sleep sacks. I’d like to pull some details from our more popular baby afghan patterns, so I think I will explore adapting this design from our Granny Twist Baby Afghan pattern…. Granny Twist Baby Afghan pattern….

I have spent the free time that I had this weekend making some accessories for the low temps that have arrived.
On Friday, I mentioned I’d be working in an ear warmer using a pattern from Paton. Well, I decided that I would just go back to the tried and true Calorimetry by Kathryn Schoendorf. This pattern is very easy to knit, and a good introduction to short rows to the new knitter. Click on the picture below to find the pattern on Ravelry:

I enjoy listening to Bible studies on my phone while I walk, because it helps my mind go to another place while my legs are protesting the vigorous walk! So, I needed fingerless gloves be able to use my phone conveniently. I wanted them to be quick, and since I am a much faster crocheter than knitter, I found these quick and easy Simple Handwarmers by Jennifer Edwards. One reason why I picked this pattern is that with double crochets, they are flexible and comfortable, not stiff as single crochets would make them. I am going to spend my afternoon getting my newest baby afghan crochet pattern finished and published. HOPEFULLY, I will have it ready to share by tomorrow morning! Have a wonderful day!
After some late-night crocheting, the next baby afghan pattern headed for my Etsy and Ravelry shops is finally finished, and pinned to the blocking board!
I will try to get the pattern published no later than Monday evening, so stay tuned!

While the afghan is blocking, I think I’ll get out my knitting needles and make an ear warmer for the below-freezing temps that are coming. I have renewed my resolve to walk for exercise every day, especially since the summer heat is gone, and I don’t want the cold to stop me! I’m not looking for anything fancy this time – just fast – so I think I’ll use this pattern from Patons:
I’ll post a picture when it’s finished!
I hope you have enjoyed your Saturday, and been able to relax and get some crocheting done! I am plugging away at the next baby afghan due in our shop, and hope to have it listed sometime next week.

Hannah and I are busy with various crochet projects today. Hannah is crocheting a cute little bear for a 1 year old for his birthday. This little guy will be SO soft! I will post the finished pic with a pattern link when it’s finished. And he is sitting on the next pattern in development for Baby Afghans for Every Season.
Happy Friday, and happy crocheting!
