Our baby chicks have a new home!

They were seriously outgrowing their old container — now they have some elbow room!

(Yes, I know — do chicks have elbows?!)

They have a red light on them (to keep them from pecking on each other),
lest you think we were able to find some pink chickies somewhere!

I wanted a closeup of this gal, and then I noticed the silly girl in the background who’s decided she’d be more comfortable sitting on one of her neighbors!

This neighbor happens to be one of our 4 guinea hens — I just love their coloring when they’re little!

It’s still too cold to let them outside,
but before too long we’ll have their permanent outside house built,
and they can start getting used to a whole new world!

  1. Aww such cute little ones! I’m hoping to raise chicks at some point. I just the three hens I have now (and the fresh eggs).
